Cultural Visits

At Instituto San Fernando, we realize that the success of a Spanish language program is not solely dependent on the quality of the classes, but also the development of a cultural activities/free time program which fully immerses the student in the country’s culture.

The cultural activities component of our programs is designed to provide our students with a vision of Spanish culture and society in the most complete and integrated form possible. It is based on diverse criteria, including our high academic standards as well as the personal interests of the students. All activities are carefully planned, discussed before and after in the classroom, include the appropriate materials and are accompanied by a specialized professor-mentor.

We not only teach culture in the classroom; we allow each student to experience the most important aspects of Spanish society through a carefully structured program of cultural visits.

Some of these cultural visits might be:

Visit to the most important museums in the city (El Prado, Reina Sofía, Thyssen, etc.), the fountains route, visit to Plaza de Oriente and the Royal Palace, visit to la Puerta del Sol and la Plaza Mayor, a walk trough the city centre, a route trough el Barrio de las Letras, etc.


Visit to la Casa de la Pedrera, visit to Casa Batlló, visit to the Gothic quarter, Visit to the Cathedral, visit to Paseo de Gracia, visit to Güell Park, visit to Pueblo Español, visit to the most important museums in the city, etc.


Toledo’s door and city walls route, Panoramic view of Toledo by the Tajo and Los Cigarrales route, a walk through the Medieval city, a Literary routes: Cervantes and el Quijote, Toledo and he three cultures route, visit to the most important museums in the city, etc.


Visit to the Cathedral and the Giralda, Visit to the Reales Alcazares, a walk through Santa Cruz quarter, visit to the most important museums in the city, visit to the Bullring, Paseo Colon and the Arenal quarter, Visit to Torre del Oro and the Archivo de Indias, a walk trough Triana, Visit to Plaza de España and Parque de Maria Luisa, etc.


Visit to the Torre Tavira, a walk through the Populo quarter, the Constitution route, visit to Santa Catalina and San Sebastian Castles, visit to the most important museums in the city, etc.


Visit to the Alhambra and the Generalife, Visit to the Cathedral and the Royal Chapel, a walk through the Albaicin district, its "Carmenes" and the Mirador de San Nicolás, a walk through the Alcaiceria, Federico Garcia Lorca’s Museum, the Washington, visit to El Corral del Carbón, etc.
