Our cultural trips are designed for students between 11-14 years old. They consist of cultural visits, activities and didactic workshops where our students get the most out of the "educational environment" that a city has to offer. The students won’t have classes inside a classroom. All the activities, visits and workshops will take place outdoor so the student will be learning everything "on-site".

Thanks to our Cultural trips, the students will experience firsthand important aspects of the Spanish culture, such as local habits and traditions, in a fun and practical way. At the same time they will be practicing and improving their Spanish language skills.

With our cultural trips we make the most of the "educational environment" that a city has to offer. We consider the city as an "educational environment" in which we make our students "live" an interactive experience and real life situations. In this way we will help them to improve their knowledge about the Spanish language and culture.

A new way of traveling

Our cultural trips pretend to become something more than an ordinary school trip. The students stay with a local host family, they visit the main monuments and the most representative places in the city accompanied by an ISF teacher and they get acquainted with the local sights, history and culture in a really interactive and practical way.

We organise the students’ schedule, day by day, in an efficient and well planned way: in the morning, students participate in visit, activities or workshops. At midday, they get back to their host families’ to have lunch. In the evening, they keep discovering the city and at night, they get back to their host families’ to have dinner and sleep.

At Instituto San Fernando, we are aware of the importance of making a continuous follow-up to the students to ensure their well-being. That’s why we have a 24hrs telephone number for assistance. 

Living with a Spanish family

In Instituto San Fernando, we think that living with a Spanish family is the best way to get "immersed" in the Spanish culture. All the families that take in our students have been carefully chosen trough a selection process made by our Housing department. Also, it is the best way to experience the best Spanish cuisine.

Students will participate in the normal routine of the families and they will have all the meals included. The laundry is also included once a week.

Staying with a friend in the same host family is also possible if the students let us know in advance. This will only be possible with students from the same gender as we do not mix girls and boys in the same family. You will be living at the real "Spanish style"

Visits, activities and didactic workshops

At Instituto San Fernando, we have marked as our main objective to give a deep content to our visits, didactic workshops and activities in a pleasant and practical way. We highlight the importance of those aspects, that our students usually find more interesting, by developing outdoor lessons during the visits, activities and specific workshops such as: visit to the local markets, street interviews, work in groups, visits to monuments, visits to historical places where important episodes of history took place, photography contests, recreational-cultural workshops, etc.

Our main goal is to "immerse" the students in the Spanish culture and make them improve their communicative skills by using the language in real life situations. We take advantage of the educational environment that a city can offer.

Before the group arrival, we offer a great variety of activities that can be developed trough the Instituto San Fernando or directly trough public or private cultural entities of the city.
